Services for Lela Sanders of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday,Oct. 19, at Center Street Church of Christ with burial in HillcrestCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1-6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Sanders, 91, died Oct. 15, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 20, 1910, toTommie Levi and Luvella Levi.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Center Street Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, MelvinSanders; her brothers, Tom Levi, Robert Levi, Luther Van Levi, andOliver John Levi; her sister, Carrie Levi; her son, Willie Sanders;and her daughters, Lula Fields, Hazel Carter, and SharleneMatthews.

Survivors are her sons, Donell Sanders of Chicago and TommieSanders of Brookhaven; her daughters, Glenda Demyers of Detroit,Mich., Essie McGee and Audrey Martin, both of Chicago, andEarnestine Shannon, Idella Sanders, Lizzie Fields and LevernRichardson, all of Brookhaven; and 35 grandchildren, 62great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
