Services for Willie Mae Hammond of Monticello are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inSauls Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hammond, 83, died Oct. 21, 2002, at Lawrence CountyHospital. She was born in Lawrence County on Oct. 6, 1919, to JoeLany and Nannie Peavey Thames.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sauls Valley BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AmealHammond; her brothers; and her sisters.

Survivors are her daughters, Jewan Kirkland of Monticello andPeggy Harvey of Jayess; and six grandchildren; and eightgreat-grandchildren.
