Services for Dorothy Marie Davis Gillis of Hazlehurst were 11a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Stringer Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Bethel Cemetery.

Mrs. Gillis, 68, died Oct. 28, 2002, at Hardy Wilson MemorialHospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of CopiahCounty.

She was a retired sewing machine operator. She was a member ofthe Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jadie and Donnie Davis;her husband, Byrd Gillis; her brothers, J. B. Davis and LamarDavis; and her sisters, Lillian Delany, Lozell Purser, and LavelleFoster.

Survivors are her daughter, Phyllis Jordan of Wesson; her son,Jeff Gillis of Hazlehurst; her sisters, Janie Edwards of Wesson,Doris Waldelson of Hazlehurst, and Diane Thedford of Brookhaven;her brothers, Carrol Davis of Georgetown and Jerrel Davis ofJackson; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
