CRYSTAL SPRINGS – Brookhaven senior Ayana Tillman pumped in agame-high 32 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to direct theBrookhaven Lady Panthers to a 70-45 win over the winless CrystalSprings Lady Tigers Thursday night.

In the boys game, Jasper Hall fired in 21 points and grabbed 11rebounds to spark the 2-0 Panthers to a 74-62 victory over theTigers (0-2).

The Brookhaven girls, coached by Billy Holmes, led 7-6 in thefirst quarter and went on a 22-13 run in the second quarter to takea 29-19 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Lady Panthersdominated the Lady Tigers 41-15 to produce their second win of theseason.

Adding support to the Brookhaven win with 12 points and 12rebounds was Anna Autman. The Lady Panthers had 17 assists and made13 steals.

Brookhaven 74, Crystal Springs 62

The Brookhaven boys, coached by Ronald Hines, handed their newhead coach his second win of the season. The Panthers jumped out17-13 in the first quarter and kept the pressure on for a 36-27edge over the Tigers at the half.

In the third quarter, Crystal Springs posted a 24-13 run onBrookhaven and took a 51-49 lead on Brookhaven into the finalframe. The Panthers roared back for a 25-11 run on the Tigers tosecure the win.

Brandon Caston netted 14 points for the Panthers. Scoring 11points apiece were Lamar Hall, Dexter Middleton and JermaineCulver. Culver pulled down six rebounds followed by Lamar Hall withfive rebounds.

Jereneko Williams paced Crystal Springs with 15 points. CoryMartin finished with 14 points.

Brookhaven will host the Ole Brook Shoot Out Classic Saturday.The Brookhaven girls meet Callaway at 7 p.m. and the Panthersbattle the Chargers at 8:30. The Classic opens at Noon with theBrookhaven JV boys battling Clinton. Other teams playing includeClinton, St. Joseph, Madison Central and Bailey.
