Services for Billy D. Martin of Meadville are 2 p.m., Thursday,Nov. 14, at Meadville United Methodist Church with burial in MidwayCemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home.

Mr. Martin, 75, died Nov. 11, 2002, at St. Dominic’s Hospital.He graduated from Raleigh High School and attended the Universityof Mississippi. He received a B.S. degree in chemistry fromMillsaps College.

He began his tenure with Franklin County Memorial Hospital asadministrator in 1954 and served for 34 years. He served as amember of the Mississippi Hospital Association Board of Governors.He was a past president of the Southwest Hospital Council, pastpresident of Southwest Emergency Medical Service, and a director ofBlue Cross Blue Shield. He served three terms as president of theMiddlefork Country Club. He was a member of the Sam Newman HuntingClub and the Indian Mound Hunting Club. He enjoyed and supportedthe Franklin County youth baseball and football programs and OleMiss football. He was a WWII veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Harvey and ClaraMartin; and his sister, Charlotte Godwin.

Survivors are his wife, Delores Bacot Martin; his twin sons,Bill Bacot Martin and Randy Donavan Martin, both of Meadville; andhis grandchildren, Deana Martin of Jackson, and Justin and JessicaMartin of Natchez.
