Services for Larry David Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Monday,Dec. 2, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m., and Monday from 8 a.m. until1:30 p.m., at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, 73, died Nov. 30, 2002, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 24, 1929, to JohnButler Smith and Wessie Smith.

He was a retired drilling superintendent for Delta DrillingCompany. He was an army veteran. He was a member of MacedoniaBaptist Church, and Masonic Lodge 241 of Brookhaven. He was an avidfisherman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother,Charles H. Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Elsie Jordan Smith of Brookhaven; hisson, Larry Clint Smith of Byram; his daughters, Amy Rhoads ofBrookhaven, Cindy Doerr of Slidell, La., Duida Dawkins and LindaValle, both of Brandon, and Bonnie Whitty of Terry; his brothers,John B. Smith Jr., of Wesson, Carroll P. Smith of Houston, Texas,and Leslie Michael Smith of College Station, Texas; his sisters,Bonita Bullock of Brookhaven, Valerie Hill of Baton Rouge, La., andVeda Grace Covington of Union Church; and 10 grandchildren; andthree great-grandchildren.
