Services for John Herman “Bonnie” Allgood of Brookhaven are 2p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 4-9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mr. Allgood, 81, died Dec. 6, 2002, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on Aug. 2, 1921, to Leon Allgood and MaryCase Allgood.

He was a retired cabinet maker with Central Millwork &Supply Company. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church,where he was a former music director and deacon. He was a veteranof WWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, the Rev.James K. Allgood; his sisters, Clara Mae Smith, Marie Smith,Lucille Walker, Yvonne Allen and Kathryn McDavid; and hisson-in-law, Charles Richard Thurman.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Louise Wallace Allgood ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Myra Lynn Allgood Thurman of Brookhaven,Jean Allgood Stewart and husband Kenneth of Gillsburg, and JanetAllgood Smith and husband Mark of Madison; his sister, Edith Smithof Brookhaven; his sister-in-law, Gladys Allgood of Vaughn; hisbrother-in-law, Hollis Smith of Brookhaven; his grandchildren andtheir spouses, Chris Thurman and wife Kim of Clinton, Kelly Thurmanof Brandon, Ryan Thurman and wife Amanda of Hattiesburg, MichelleStewart Harvey and husband Gray of Central Asia, the Rev. ToddStewart and wife Alisa of Louisburg, N.C., Holly Smith Bond andhusband Jeremy of Madison, and Tiffany Smith Carver and husbandRyan of Brandon; his great-grandchildren, Tanner Thurman, Tori,Chloe, and Melea Harvey, Tyler Stewart and Alexis Carver; and ahost of nieces and nephews.
