Services for Dorothy “Dot” Butler McLellan of Jackson are 11a.m., Friday, Dec. 13, at Broadmoor Baptist Church with burial inParkway Memorial Park in Ridgeland.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Wright & FergusonFuneral Home in Ridgeland.

Mrs. McLellan, 72, died Dec. 9, 2002, at Hospice Ministries Inc.in Ridgeland. She was born in the Fair River community on April 1,1930, to Allie Lee and Malcolm “Steve” Butler. She was a graduateof Fair River High School. She graduated from Co-Lin Jr. College in1949 and earned a degree in elementary education from MississippiCollege in 1951. In 1970 she earned her master’s degree fromMississippi College.

She taught third grade in Lexington Public Schools for fiveyears and in Jackson Public Schools at Boyd, Watkins, and CaseyElementary Schools for 35 years. She was a member of BroadmoorBaptist Church and had worked in many departments of thechurch.

Survivors are her husband, Everett McLellan of Jackson; hersisters, Kathleen Griffith of Pearl and Sally Butler of Brookhaven;her brothers, Jack Eugene Butler of Jackson, Malcolm FranklinButler of Brookhaven, and James Edward Butler of Barstow, Calif.;and many nieces and nephews.
