Services for Purvis W. Brown of Leggett, Texas are 2 p.m.,Thursday, Dec. 19, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inCalvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Services will be conducted by theRev. Bob Lynch.
Visitation is Wednesday from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown, 71, died Dec. 13, 2002, at Bay Shore Medical Centerin Pasadena, Texas. He was born in Bogue Chitto, Miss., on June 25,1931, to Lawrence Brown and Wilma Lee Brown May.
He was a self-employed electrician. He was a member of theBaptist faith. He was an army veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Edith MageeBrown; and his stepfather, Malcolm May.
Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Alvis Ray and SueBrown of New Caney, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Connie Dianand Raymond Garretson of South Houston, Texas; his sister andbrother-in-law, Juanita Omega and Leroy Dunaway of Bogue Chitto;his grandchildren, Kimbery Oliver of Garner, N.C., Jessie Brown andJoe Brown of New Caney, and Jason Bowman of South Houston; hisgreat-grandchild, Audrey Elizabeth Brown; and a host of nieces,nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Curtis L. Dunaway, RickyDunaway, Jamie Rippy, Kenneth Magee, Rusty Pippins and GeorgePippins.
