WESSON – Co-Lin women’s head basketball coach Gwyn Young has hadgreat play from his bench this season. Tuesday night was nodifferent.

In last night’s 94-49 win over the Delgado Lady Dolphins, Younggot another fine performance from his starters as well as his benchin the final game of the first semester.

Three Co-Lin reserves came in for some big contributions.Loretta Martin came off the bench with 16 points, six rebounds andfour steals for the Lady Wolves. Freshman forward VictoriaRichardson netted 12 points and had four assists. Freshman forwardLauren Williams fired in 11 points..

“It was a good win for us,” said Young following the victory.”We got to play a lot of people. Our bench did well. It’s a goodthing for us to have.”

The undefeated Lady Wolves improved to 12-0 on the season andremain 2-0 in South Division play.

The Lady Wolves took off at the start of the first quarter for a19-6 lead on a layup by sophomore guard Tiania Burns with 11:59 onthe clock. Co-Lin followed with a 17-4 run before Delgado’s KatieSterling hit a basket at the 6:06 mark with the Lady Wolves up34-10. At the half, Co-Lin dominated Delgado 43-18.

In the second half, Co-Lin had pushed its lead to 33 points,61-28, with 11:40 remaining in the game. At the 6:19 mark, the LadyWolves went up 79-33, for a 46-point lead on a jump shot fromsophomore guard Roberta Johnson.

“It’s a good ending for the first semester,” added Young. “It’llbe a good break for them for a couple of days.”

Directing the Lady Wolves with 20 points and four assists wasBurns. Center Shaquita Smith finished with 10 points.

For 7-9 Delgado, sophomore Takisha Watkins led the way with 25points. Joanna Ortiz coaches the Lady Dolphins.
