Services for Bertram R. “Bert” Welch Jr. of Summit are 11 a.m.,Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Catchings Funeral Home Chapel with burial inHollywood Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 1-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. untilservice time at the funeral home.

Mr. Welch, 62, died Dec. 21, 2002, at SMRMC. He was born inMagnolia on May 25, 1940, to Bertram R. Welch Sr. and ThelmaDickens Welch.

He was a a supervisor/linesman for Highlines ConstructionCompany. He was a member of First Assembly Of God Church inMcComb.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, BobbyWelch.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Massey Welch of Summit; his son,Jimmy Welch of Summit; his daughters, Gail Welch of Summit andTerry Ann Volz of Richland; his brother, Billy Welch of Brookhaven;his sisters, Carolyn Hamilton and Barbara Ann Edmonds, both ofMcComb; and six grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, and numerousnieces and nephews.
