Services for Deette Arnold Daniels of Meadville are 2 p.m.,Friday, Jan. 3, at O’Zion Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation continues today until service time at the church.Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Daniels, 84, died Jan. 1, 2003, at her daughter’sresidence. She was born in Franklin County on Jan. 1, 1919, toEdward Bluitt Arnold and Bessie Cloy Arnold.

She was a retired beautician. She was a member of O’Zion BaptistChurch. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, pastpresident of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was among the firstorganizers of the Republican Party in Franklin County. She hadwritten for the Franklin Advocate and had published a cookbook.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesDaniels; her son, James Michael Daniels; her sisters, Rosa Shelton,Nettie Dillon, and Claudine Ward; and two brothers, Grady Arnoldand Willie Arnold.

Survivors are his daughters, Phyllis Whittington and JudyForrest, both of Meadville; and three grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren.
