Services for Randy Ferdinand Sr., of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Jan. 11, at Damascus Missionary Baptist Church withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 2-8 p.m., at the church. HodgesFuneral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ferdinand, 42, died Jan. 7, 2003, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 9, 1960,to Willie Lee Armstrong and Rosie Lee Sanders Ferdinand.
He was a disabled truck driver. He was a member of DamascusMissionary Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deaconboard and a choir member. He was a 1980 graduate of Brookhaven HighSchool.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his sons, Randy Ferdinand II, and Isiah Ferdinand,both of Monticello, and Demond Byrd of Florida; his brothers,Albert Ferdinand of Brookhaven, Willie Ferdinand Jr., of BogueChitto, and Jerry Ferdinand of Jackson; his sisters, the Rev.Johnnie Upkins, Pecola Brown, Oma Mae Ferdinand, and Althea Brown,all of Brookhaven, Melvin Leaner Ferdinand of Albany, Ga., PatriciaBanks of Jackson, and Millie Johnson of Chicago, Ill.; and twograndchildren.
