Services for James Clifford Griffin of Silver Creek were 10a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Bethel Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Griffin, 84, died Feb. 2, 2003, at Hospice Ministries Centerin Ridgeland. He was born in Lawrence County on July 23, 1918, toRichard Andrew and Lillie Kelly Griffin.

He was retired from highway construction with W. E. Blaine &Sons. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he had servedas a deacon.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Regina RawlsGriffin; and three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are his son, Dr. Jerry Griffin of San Francisco,Calif.; his daughter, Charlotte Cockrell of Madison; and onegrandchild.
