Services for Golden Taylor of Monticello are 2 p.m., Friday,Feb. 7, at Quinn’s Temple COGIC with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is today from noon to 5 p.m., at Tyler FuneralHome.

Mrs. Taylor, 68, died Feb. 2, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn in Lawrence County on July 13, 1934, to Lucious Newsome Sr.,and Marzella Sanders Newsome.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Quinn’s TempleCOGIC.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AlbertTaylor; a son, Johnny Glen Smith; a brother, Lucious Newsome Jr.;and her sisters, Catherine Sims and Martha Hebert.

Survivors are her sons, Andrew Owens of Monticello, and JuliusOwens of Mobile, Ala.; her brothers, Lloyd Newsome and JohnnyNewsome, both of Monticello; her sisters, Julia Green of Mobile,Dorothy Butler and Marilyn Ward, both of Monticello, and LucilleCorley of Hattiesburg; and 13 grandchildren; and fivegreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
