Mrs. Ward, 76, died Feb. 6, 2003, at her residence. She was bornin Attala County on Sept. 12, 1926, to Bricy V. Edwards and RichardM. Caldwell.
She was a retired seamstress, having worked for HensonKickernick/Durant Sportswear. She was a member of Rocky HillMethodist Church.
Her husband, James Melvin Ward, also died on Feb. 6, 2003. Shewas preceded in death by her first husband, Julian Dennis Smith;her son, Ronald Eugene Smith; and a brother, Ed Caldwell.
Survivors are her daughter, Nancy Carol Smith of Richland; herstepson, Mike Ward of Pickens; her stepdaughters, Sarah Munn ofBrookhaven and Susie Burrell of Camden; her sister, JuanitaPumphrey of Oxford; her brother, Donald Caldwell of Prairieville,La.; and six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sixstepgrandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
