Services for S.G. “Shorty” Jeffries of Summit are 4 p.m.,Friday, Feb. 14, at Catchings Funeral Home Chapel with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m., and Friday from 3-4 p.m., atthe funeral home.

Mr. Jeffries, 76, died Feb. 11, 2003, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. He was born in Hanover, Ark., on Dec. 30,1926, to Albert Cordell Jeffries and Willie Dodson Jeffries.

He was a tool pusher for Cornwell Well Service for over 50years. He was an WW II army veteran. He was a member of Veterans ofForeign Wars, Post 3042 in Laurel.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, IssacJeffries and Servill Jeffries; and two sisters, Marie JeffriesMendenhall and Mildred Jeffries.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Anna Jean Massey Jeffries ofSummit; his brother, Francis Jeffries of Robert Lee, Texas; and hissister, Noleka Hopper of Batesville, Ark.
