Services for Elmer Clotiel Hughes of Magnolia are 10 a.m.,Friday, Feb. 21, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m., at Catchings Funeral Home inMcComb.

Mrs. Hughes, 81, died Feb. 19, 2003, at Beacham MemorialHospital. She was born in Pike County on Sept. 19, 1921, to AlbertConn Simmons and Myrtis Kennedy Simmons.

She was a homemaker. She was a long-time member of Bluff SpringsBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 59years, Mearl Jessie Hughes Sr.; a son, R.L. Hughes; and a brother,Alvie Lloyd Simmons.

Survivors are her sons, Charles Hughes and Robert Hughes, bothof Magnolia, and Mearl Hughes Jr., of McComb; her daughter, BrendaKay Coleman of McComb; and 15 grandchildren, 16great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and anumerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
