Services for George “Benton” Gill Sr. of McCall Creek are 2p.m., today at Concord Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Hartman Funeral Home of McComb is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is today from 1-2 p.m., at the church.
Mr. Gill, 62, died Feb. 11, 2003, in Nigeria, Africa. He wasborn in Franklin County on Dec. 4, 1940, to Claude F. Gill andNaida W. Gill.
He was a welding superintendent with Horizon Offshore. He andhis family traveled the world while he worked in the oil industry.He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Concord Baptist Churchand Ebenezer Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his father, Claude F. Gill; hisgrandparents, George W. Gill and Leona Howard Gill; and hisgranddaughter, Ashley Renee Doles.
Survivors are his wife, Allie Louise T. Gill of McCall Creek;his son and daughter-in-law, George Benton Gill Jr., and his wife,Debbie, both of Houma, La.; his daughters, Malisia Gill White ofMcCall Creek, and Tammy Gill of Lafayette, La.; his brother,Russell W. Gill of Avondale, La.; his sisters, Naida Jo Moulder ofMagnolia, Relda Freeman of Iuka, Claudette Holden of Pearl, andNancy Calcote of Wesson; and his grandchildren, Amanda White,Jeffery White, Allison Doles, Claude Gill, Staci White, and SeanWhite.
Pallbearers will be Claude Gill, John Calcote, Jeffery White,Jimmy Holden, Sean White, and Antoine Gregorie.
