Services for J.C. Chism of Brookhaven are 1 p.m., Tuesday, March11, at Tyler Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Eastern StarCemetery in Wesson.
Visitation is Monday from noon until 5 p.m., at the funeralhome.
Mr. Chism, 72, died March 6, 2003, at Jacquith Nursing Home inPearl. He was born in Copiah County on April 27, 1930, to DecaturChism and Bertha McNair Chism.
He was a former machine operator for General Electric inChicago, Ill. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He servedin the Army.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, WillieFred Chism and D.C. Chism; and a sister, Willie Mae Beasley.
Survivors are his wife, Helen Herring Chism of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Bobbie Jean Allen of Milwaukee, Wis., Irma Mae Stewartof Yazoo City, and Anna Marie Thompson of Brookhaven; his brothers,Jim Chism of Portland, Ore., Bert Chism of Denver, Colo., andEarnest Ray Chism of Merced, Calif.; his sisters, Dora Mae Collinsof Concord, Calif., Bertha Williams of Vallejo, Calif., and JosieScott of Hazlehurst; and five grandchildren, threegreat-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
