Services for Bernice Smith of Brookhaven are 10 a.m., Friday,March 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMacedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 73, died March 12, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on March 12, 1930, to Cason Smith and GenieSmith.

He was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers, and onesister.

Survivors are his wife, Mamie Smith of Brookhaven; his sons,Mark Smith of Pearl and Doug V. Smith and wife Lielia of Decatur,Ala.; his daughter, Wanda V. Hart and husband Charles Ray ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Vergie Weeks and Allie Laird, both ofBrookhaven; and his grandchildren, Casey Smith, Coty Smith, MandyCase, Christy Hart and Matthew Hart.
