Services for Monteith C. Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, March 26, at New Sight Baptist Church with burial in NewSight Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Smith, 82, died March 23, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Kirby on Aug. 10, 1920, to Robert T.Covington and Iva Forrest McLemore Covington.

She was retired from Stahl Urban. She was a member of New SightBaptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, formerpianist, and was a member of the JOY Club and the WMU.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, DonaldSmith; her grandson, Mike Case; her sister, Charlene Boyte; and herbrother, George Covington.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Donis and David Caseof Brookhaven; her niece, Bobbie Boyte of Houston, Texas; hernephew, Dennis Boyte of Winnsboro, La.; and a host of nieces,nephews, and other relatives.
