Services for J.B. Williamson of Monticello are 10 a.m.,Wednesday, April 9, at Monticello Methodist Protestant Church withburial in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello.

Mr. Williamson, 81, died April 7, 2003 at Lawrence CountyNursing Center. He was born in Lawrence County on May 30, 1921, toJohn Edward and Amcie Lambert Williamson.

He was a retired self-employed logger with Williamson Loggingand a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. He was a member ofMonticello Methodist Protestant church where he was superintendentof Sunday school. He also served in other capacities in the church.He was a Mason, Shriner, and a member of the Eastern Star.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Ruth”Baby Girl” Williamson; his brothers, Buford Williamson and B.T.Williamson; his sisters, Grace Hathorn, Lottie Herman and BerniceLambert; and his grandson, D.J. Sills.

Survivors are his wife, Donzie Thornhill Williamson ofMonticello; his sons, Larry Williamson, Paul Williamson and SteveWilliamson, all of Monticello; his stepsons, David Garrett andRichard Garrett, both of Jayess; his stepdaughters, Diane Reid andMary Ruth Powell, both of Monticello; his sisters, Marie Jameson ofMcComb, Bertie Fortenberry of Barlow, and Billie Polk of Jackson;nine grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, threegreat-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren, and a hostof nieces and nephews.
