Services for William Herbert “Jay” Smith of Brookhaven are 3p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Living Word Faith Ministries withburial in Friendship Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday, April 12, from 12-6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mr. Smith, 64, died April 7, 2003 at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 5, 1939, to WoodrowSmith and Roberta Daniels Smith.

He was retired from Paul Smith Trucking Company. He was a memberof Pilgrim Rest Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sons, James Smithand Robin Smith; his sister, Alleen Smith; and his grandson,Lakendrick Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Gerald Smith of Kansas City, Kan., andDontray Williams of Brookhaven; his daughters, Shelia Nicks of HongKong, China, and Betty Jean Wilson and Annie Jean Wilson, both ofBrookhaven; his brothers, Bennie Smith of Slidell, La., James EarlSmith and Julius P. Smith, both of Hudson, N.Y., and Prentiss Smithof Chicago, Ill.; his sister, Evelyn Smith of Brookhaven; 11grandchildren and, many nieces and nephews.
