Services for Acie Cameron of Fayette are 11 a.m., Tuesday, May6, at New Fork United Methodist Church in Meadville with burial inMeadville Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from noon to 6 p.m., at Rollins FuneralHome Chapel.

Mr. Cameron, 50, died April 29, 2003, at Jefferson CountyHospital. He was born in Franklin County on April 15, 1953, to NateCameron and Rosie Lee Ashley.

He was a deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Departmentand an officer with the Fayette Police Department.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, NateCameron and Earnest Cameron.

Survivors are his daughter, Lakrisha Denise Gibson of Summit;his brothers, Julius Ray Cameron of Detroit, Mich., and AndrewCameron of Forth Worth, Texas; his sisters, Katie Anderson ofMemphis, Tenn., Dorothy Mae Cameron of Meadville, Annie Maroney ofFort Worth, Flora Lee Cameron of Detroit, Rosie Buckles of Roxie,and Betty Rice of Ratcliff, Kent.; his stepdaughter, Tracy Graysonof Fayette; his stepson, Eric Grayson of Fayette; and a host ofother relatives and friends.

Robert F. Diffrient Jr.

Services for Robert F. Diffrient Jr., of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Monday, May 5, at Brookhaven Branch of the Church of Jesus Christof Latter Day Saints with burial in the Red Star Ward of the Churchof Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m., and Monday from 8 a.m. untilnoon, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, and Monday from 1-2 p.m., at thechurch.

Mr. Diffrient, 70, died May 2, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Plains on Dec. 4, 1932, to Robert F. Diffrient Sr., andAnna Williams Diffrient Roberts.

He was retired from Texas Eastern Gas Company. He was a memberof Brookhaven Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter DaySaints. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, LavellBuckley Diffrient; and a son, Roger Diffrient.

Survivors are his wife, Diana Fife Diffrient of Brookhaven; hisson, Bob Diffrient of Brookhaven; his stepsons, Anthony Sones ofDiamondhead, Randall Sones and Jimmy Sones, both of Brookhaven, JonSones of Gilbert, Ariz., and Kevin Sones of Clinton, La.; hisdaughter, Dena Willard of New Mexico; his daughter-in-law, RobinDiffrient of Brookhaven; his stepbrother, Raymond Roberts ofBrookhaven; and 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Loyd Edgar Smith

Services for Loyd Edgar Smith of Brookhaven are 10 a.m., Monday,May 5, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-10 p.m., and Monday from 8-9 a.m., atBrookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, 72, died May 3, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lucien on Dec. 24, 1930, to Edgar Smith andFrances Posey Smith.

He was retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a member ofFriendship Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother andsister-in-law, Charles and Veta Grace Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Laverne Herring Smith of Brookhaven; hisson and daughter-in-law, Glen and Sharon Smith of Brookhaven; hisdaughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Stanley Gipson of Petal, andNancy and Bill Haag of Brookhaven; his grandchildren, Shay and AmyGipson of Carriere, Chad Gipson of Petal, and Tracie L. Haag, HaleyHaag, Clancy Smith, and Marshall Morgan, all of Brookhaven; hisgreat-grandchildren, Sawyer and Carson Gipson of Carriere; and anumber of nieces and nephews.
