Graveside services for Velma Galtney-Smith of Fayette were May23, at in Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman. Spencer Funeral Home wasin charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Galtney-Smith, 84, died May 21, 2003, at Natchez RegionalMedical Center. She was born in Jefferson County on June 14, 1918,to Mr. and Mrs. George Galtney.

She was a librarian for Jefferson County Library. She was amember of Presbyterian Church of Brookhaven. She was a graduate ofRed Lick School.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her sons, Glynn N. Holliday and Jock G. Smith,both of Fayette; her sister, Elizabeth Chappa of Fayette; and twograndsons; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
