Graveside services for Wilma Kauffman Abrams of Mobile, Ala.,formerly of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m., Friday, June 13, in Rose HillCemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home and Radney-Belmany Funeral Homein Mobile, Ala., are in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Abrams, 94, died June 11, 2003, in Alabama. She was born inFordyce, Ark., to George and Anna Kauffman.
She was retired from WJMB, where she was station manager formany years. She attended Fordyce High School, where Paul “Bear”Bryant was her classmate, and she watched him play his firstfootball game. She attended business school in Little Rock, Ark.She worked in Hazlehurst and McComb before coming to Brookhaven asstation manager. She was a volunteer for Temple B’Nai Sholomsisterhood and King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 61years, Clifford Abrams; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and PuddinAbrams of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia andDouglass Talley of Marietta, Ga.; her sisters-in-law, FlorineAbrams of Brookhaven, and Vera Abrams Davis of Jackson; hergrandchildren and their spouses, Joshua and Karen Abrams ofAsheville, N.C., Stephan Abrams of Jackson, Wyo., Abby and DavidRosen, Tracy Minkoff of Atlanta, Ga., and Amanda Abrams of NewYork; and many other relatives and life-long friends.
