Services for John Henry Rawls Jr. of Jackson, formerly ofLawrence County, are 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5, at Mt. OliveMissionary Baptist Church in Oma with burial in Pleasant ValleyCemetery in Oma.

Visitation is Saturday from 10-11 a.m., at the church. TylerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rawls, 81, died June 30, 2003, at V.A. Nursing Home inJackson. He was born in Lawrence County on Sept. 3, 1921, to JohnRawls Sr., and Eliza Brown Rawls.

He was a retired pulpwood hauler. He was a member of Fair HillMissionary Baptist Church in Oma, and was an Army veteran.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Earline Rawls; hisparents; his brother, Percy Rawls; and his sister, EverleanBaylis.

Survivors are his son, Henry Rawls of Brookhaven; his daughter,Mamie Davis of Monticello; his sisters, Mamie Lou Weir of El Paso,Texas, Alma Hilliard of Oma, and Flora O’Banner of Jackson; sixgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.
