Edith “Crickett” Barnett

Services for Edith “Crickett” Barnett of Brookhaven, formerly ofJayess, were 11 a.m., Saturday, July 12, at Calvary UnitedPentecostal Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Barnett, 73, died July 10, 2003, at Haven Hall NursingHome. She was born in Lincoln County on June 11, 1930, to HenryDunaway and Isabelle Magee Dunaway.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary UnitedPentecostal Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, DevonBarnett; two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are her sons, Allen Barnett of Brookhaven and LamarBarnett of Jayess; her daughter, Sheryl Barnett of Silver Creek;her brother, Carl Dunaway of Pricedale; eight grandchildren; andseven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Beach

Services for Dorothy Beach of Hazlehurst are 2 p.m., Sunday,July 13, at Smyrna Baptist Church with burial in SmyrnaCemetery.

Mrs. Beach, 73, died July 10, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven.

She was a retired nurse.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard M. Beach.

Survivors are her sons, Richard Beach of Bauenhausen, Germany,and Revis Beach of Anchorage, Ala.; her daughter, Valerie Cline ofBrookhaven; her sister, Adele Hayes of Onalaska, Texas; eightgrandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Harold Duane Brumfield

Services for Harold Duane Brumfield of Spring, Texas, are 10a.m., Monday, July 14, at Klein Funeral Home Chapel located at16131 Champion Forest Dr., Klein, Texas.

Visitation is Sunday, July 13, from 1-9 p.m. at Klein FuneralHome.

Mr. Brumfield, 76, died July 10, 2003, at his home in Spring. Hewas the son of Sandy and Mildred Brumfield, was born Aug. 12, 1927,in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Bogue Chitto as a young child. Hewent to work for the railroad in Mississippi as a brakeman at theage of 14. He graduated from Bogue Chitto High School in 1945.After high school, he joined the United States Navy and serveduntil 1953. After the Navy he went to work for Geosource for 33years until he retired in 1985. In 1969, he married Angelina Searlein Cape Town, South Africa.

Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Angelina Searle Brumfield;his daughters, Bonnie Moraitis and Lisa Goodman; his son, MarkBrumfield; his brothers, Sam, Jay, Joe, Pete and Ed Brumfield; hissisters, Margaret Boyer, Irene Baggett, Laura Ruth Alexander,Marilyn Mullins and Cheryl Alexander; his three grandchildren; andnumerous nieces and nephews.

Ashlyn Paris Dunaway

Services for Ashlyn Paris Dunaway of Summit are 2 p.m., Monday,July 14, at Calvary Apostolic Church in McComb with burial inProvidence Baptist Church Cemetery in Jayess.

Visitation is Sunday, July 13, from 5-9 p.m., and Monday from 10a.m. until 2 p.m., at Calvary Apostolic Church.

Miss Dunaway, 4, died July 11, 2003, at her home. She was bornin McComb on Nov. 10, 1998, to John and Jackie Dunaway ofSummit.

She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church where she loved herSunday school class and singing in the children’s choir there.

Preceding her in death was her grandfather, Petey Benedict.

Survivors are her parents; her brother; Gavin Dunaway of Summit;her sister, Brooklyn Dunaway of Summit; her paternal grandparents,Wilburn “Butch” and JoAnn Dunaway of McComb; her maternalgrandparents, Henry and Linda Tyler of Pineville, La.; and hergreat-grandmother, Sammie Benedict of Pineville.

James Fauver Sr.

Services for James Fauver Sr. of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Monday,July 14, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in PleasantGrove Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, July 13, from 8-10 p.m., and Monday, July14, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at the church.

Mr. Fauver, 84, died July 12, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Lincoln County on June 3, 1919, to N.J. Fauver and DaisySmith Fauver of Lincoln County.

He was a foreman with Jacobson. He was a member of the Baptistfaith. He was a veteran of World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, PercyFauver.

Survivors are his wife, Audrey Case Fauver of Brookhaven; hissons, James A. Fauver, Jimmy C. Fauver and Jerry D. Fauver, all ofBrookhaven; his brother, Dennis Fauver of Slidell, La.; hissisters, Ruth Allred and Ruby Henderson, both of Slidell; sixgrandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Floyd, 55, died July 11, 2003, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. She was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 1, 1948,to Olion Britt and Ruby Lee Newell Britt.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant RidgePentecostal Church.

Preceding her in death were her father, and her daughter,Stephanie Elaine Hudson.

Survivors are her mother; her husband, Charles Floyd ofBrookhaven; her sons, Scott Hudson and Charles Byron Floyd, both ofBrookhaven; her step-daughters, Denise Avery of Kentwood, La.,Charla Granger of Magnolia, and Belissa Church of North Dakota; herbrother, James Mitchell Britt of Brookhaven; her sister, PatsyClaville of Covington, Ga.; her 13 grandchildren and fivegreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. Reed, 91, died July 12, 2003, at Haven Hall Healthcare. Shewas born in Lincoln County on Feb. 26, 1912, to Frank Smith andNora Smith of Lincoln County.

She was an assembly worker for Stahl Urban. She was a member ofthe Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, MarvinReed.

Survivors are her son, Raybon Reed of Brookhaven; her daughter,Linda Newport of Brookhaven; her brother, Elvin Smith ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Katherine Smith and Jenevieve Case, bothof Brookhaven; and two grandchildren.

Flora Boyd Thornhill

Services for Flora Boyd Thornhill of Jayess are 2 p.m., Sunday,July 14, at Powell’s Grove Pentecostal Church in Jayess with burialin the church cemetery.

Visitation was Saturday, July 12, from 5:30 p.m. at the churchand continues on Sunday, July 13, until the time of service.

Mrs. Thornhill, 88, died July 11, 2003, at Lawrence CountyHospital in Monticello. She was born in Walthall County on June 8,1915, to Joseph L. “Joe” Boyd and Bessie Greer Boyd.

She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Powell’s GrovePentecostal Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ClemThornhill; and a brother, Buell Boyd.

Survivors are her sons, Hugh Dean Thornhill, Carroll Thornhill,Wayne Thornhill and Paul Thornhill, all of Jayess, and CareyThornhill of Lucedale; her brothers, Buford Boyd of Jayess andEldridge Boyd of Kokomo; her sisters, Euetta Lawrence of Jayess andOtillia Prescott of Tylertown; 14 grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
