Services for Ruby Lee Lear of Jackson are 1 p.m., Saturday, July26, at First Hyde Park Missionary Baptist Church with burial inGarden Memorial Park.
Visitation is Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., with family hourfrom 7-8 p.m., at People’s Funeral Home of Jackson.
Mrs. Lear, 83, died July 19, 2003, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 8, 1919, to RobertBroom and Lillian Crosby Broom.
She attended Friendship and Alexander High School. She was amember of First Hyde Park Missionary Baptist Church, where sheserved as a church mother.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WeltonLear; a brother, Marlester Broom; and a sister, JosephineJones.
Survivors are her sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Dickey ofBrookhaven, Elmer and Louis Coleman of Jackson, and Betty Moffettand Lillian Mae Coleman, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; her brothersand sister-in-law, Willie Broom of Brookhaven, and Robert andThelma Broom of Omaha, Neb.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousinsand other relatives and friends.
