Services for Mattie Reed Washington of Meadville are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Aug. 16, at New Fork United Methodist Church with burialin the church cemetery. Marshall Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 12-5 p.m.

Washington, 87, died Aug. 8, 2003, at Natchez Regional MedicalCenter. She was born in Meadville on Oct. 16, 1916, to Felonia Reedand George Reed.

She was a member of New Fork United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Hildrey WhiteSr.; her daughter, Geneva Scarver; her grandchildren, Hilda Phelpsand Hillary White Jr.

Survivors are her daughter-in-law, Lula White of Fayette; heradopted daughter, Linda Burney of St. Louis, Mo.; her 11grandchildren; her 13 step grandchildren; her 39great-grandchildren; her three great-great grandchildren; onespecial friend, Mattie Bowie Washington of Meadville; and a host ofnieces, nephews and friends.
