Services for W.W. “Woody” Tisdale Jr., of Hazlehurst are 11a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at Hazlehurst United Methodist Church withburial in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Wright & FergusonFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday from 9-11 a.m.,at Hazlehurst United Methodist Church.

Mr. Tisdale, 63, died Aug. 27, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Jackson on May 18, 1940, to Woodrow and Mary Tisdale.

He was a graduate of Kirbyville High School in Kirbyville,Texas, and Whitworth College. He served in the Navy and retiredfrom the Army National Guard on May 30, 2000. He began a career insales at Sanderson Farms that eventually lead him to a managementposition with George’s, Inc., in Springdale, Ark. He returned toMississippi in 1991 and lived in Hazlehurst for the past 11 years.He worked as a correctional officer with the Mississippi Departmentof Corrections, where he held the rank of sergeant for the pastseven years. He was a member of Hazlehurst United MethodistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Jewell Tisdale; hisdaughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Steve Bozeman of Hazlehurst,Marty and Joe Stennett of Brandon, and Lynn and Neal Bozeman ofBrookhaven; his sister, Mary Ann Granger of Vaiden; his brothers,Bobby Tisdale of Hazlehurst, and Jimmy Tisdale of Amarillo, Texas;and nine grandchildren.
