Services for Robert S. “Bob” Barnes of Byram are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Sept. 20, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jacksonwith burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday from 4-7 p.m., and Saturday from noon – 2p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Barnes, 74, died Sept. 18, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Magee on Nov. 16, 1928, to Thomas T. Barnes and AliceGrubbs Barnes.

He was a resident of Jackson for 50 years, and retired from theJackson Public Schools after 30 years of service.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Simmie Jones Barnes; hisdaughters, Cynthia D. Barnes, Judith B. Reaume, Patricia BarnesMcMichael and Denise Barnes Hart; his sons, Robert S. Barnes Jr.,and Eddie T. Barnes; his sister, Nannie Mae Barnes; his brothers,Ray Barnes and Lavelle Barnes;13 grandchildren; and sixgreat-grandchildren.
