Services for Doris Lucille Daves Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Thursday, Oct. 16, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inNew Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 6-9 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 71, died Oct. 14, 2003, at his residence. She wasborn in Blackhawk on Aug. 29, 1932, to Earl Daves and FlorenceEllis Daves.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Easthaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Oris B.Smith; and her brother, Marvin J. Daves.

Survivors are her daughters, Joyce Hedgepeth of Brookhaven, andDebra Shumaker of Sontag; her sons, Bobby J. Smith and MichaelSmith, both of Brookhaven; her stepdaughter, LaNell Lambert; herstepsons, Charles Ray Smith of Natchez, and John Larry Smith ofSontag; her sisters, Patsy Haynes of Covington, Tenn., Ruby Harperof Pearl, Allene Brown of Carrollton, and Mary Brock of Indianola;her brothers, Percy Daves of Blackhawk, Earl Daves of Greenwood,and Oren Dell Daves of Carrollton; four grandchildren; and onegreat-grandchild.
