Services for Sara Hathorn Brewer of Jackson were 11 a.m.,Friday, Oct. 24, at Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello withburial in the Masonic Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home in Monticellowas in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Brewer, 61, died Oct. 22, 2003, at Lakeland Health CareCenter in Jackson.

She was a native of Monticello. After graduating from MonticelloHigh School, she attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College andUniversity of Southern Mississippi. She moved to Olathe, Kansas,where she worked at Olathe Title Insurance and Johnson CountyRegister of Deeds. After marrying Willard L. Brewer on July 5,1969, she moved to Jackson in 1970. She managed the Geological DataCenter for many years, and later worked as a criminals record clerkfor Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. She enjoyed working crosswordpuzzles, creating intricate and artistic cross-stitch embroideryand watercolor painting. She was an avid bowler, holding the staterecord for bowling scores as a member of the Norton Electricbowling team.

Preceding her in death was a daughter, Michele.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Shonda and MarkSifford of Terry; her sisters, Patsy Hathorn of Jackson, and DebbieCarney of Monticello; her brother, Sam Hathorn of Jackson; herstepmother, Pamell Hathorn of Monticello; her stepbrother, RonnieMartin of Baton Rouge, La.; her aunts, Billie Polk of Jackson,Bertie Fortenberry of Hazlehurst, and Marie Jamison of Tylertown;and her granddaughters, Baleigh Sifford and Emree Sifford.
