Services for Lanita Hurdle Pittman, a resident of St.Catherine’s Village in Madison, are 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, atBroadmeadow United Methodist Church with burial in Parkway MemorialCemetery. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 5-7 p.m., at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Pittman, 78, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at St.Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was born in MarshallCounty.

She attended high school in Holly Springs and graduated withhonors from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was thewife of the Rev. Warren Pittman, a United Methodist minister, whoserved churches together at St. Luke’s Broadmeadow, Forest Hill,Hattiesburg’s Parkway Heights, Forest Monticello and CentervilleUnited Methodist Churches. She served as church pianist, secretaryand choir member. She was active in the United Methodist Women andDistrict, Conference and Jurisdictional Activities of the church.She was very supportive of her church. Her highest reward was theachievement of her children.

Survivors are her husband; her sons and daughters-in-law, Tomand Cyndi Pittman of Hernando, and Bob and Veronique Pittman of NewYork City; her brother, Sidney Hurdle of Holly Springs; hergrandchildren, Jonathan Pittman of Oxford, Robert Thomas “Bo”Pittman of Philadelphia, Pa., David Pittman of Exeter, N.H., AndrewPittman of New York and Lucy Pittman of New York; and numerousnieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Catherine’s Village Foundation.
