Services for John D. Davis Sr. of Brookhaven are 1 p.m.,Saturday, Nov. 8, at Alexander Junior High School Auditorium withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home ofPontotoc is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1-6 p.m., at Williams Mortuary.

Mr. Davis, 70, died Oct. 30, 2003, at St. Dominic MemorialHospital in Jackson. He was born in Hallsville, Texas, to John B.Davis and Lacey Spencer-Davis.

He worked for 27 years with the International Union ofElectronic/AFL-CIO. He was instrumental in organizing unions withGeneral Motors Corporation-Packard Electric Division in Clinton,Hydro Aluminum in Puckett, DynCorp in Columbus, Gulf StateCanneries and Hood Manufacturing. He received his education inLongview, Texas, and was an Army veteran of the KoreanConflict.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, GladysChristian.

Survivors are his wife, Florence Collins-Davis of Brookhaven;his sons, John D. Davis Jr., stationed in the Middle East, andKevin Collins of Brookhaven; his sister, Verdell Howard ofLongview, Texas; an aunt; and eight grandchildren.
