Services for Mattie Y. Sanders of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Nov. 8, at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon-7 p.m., with family present from6-7 p.m., at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sanders, 100, died Nov. 1, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on Dec. 4, 1902, to Isaac Wesley Young andLaRuth Mackabee Young.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hopewell M.B. Church,where she served on the Mother Board. In the Baptist Association,she was Mother of the Year three times.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WillieSanders Sr.; four daughters, Lealer, Ruth, Janie May and BettyFaye; her sons, Willie Sanders Jr., Eugene Sanders, Issac JamesSanders and Robert Earl Sanders; her sister, Joyce Wilson; and herbrother, Ike Young.

Survivors are her daughters, Lizzie Tyler, Helen Burage, EstellaClark and Maxine Jackson, all of Brookhaven, and Minnie Hardy ofSontag; 70 grandchildren; 143 great-grandchildren; 79great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and ahost of nieces and nephews.
