Services for Deborah Kate Garvin Furr of Brookhaven are 10 a.m.,Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., at the church.

Mrs. Furr, 51, died Dec. 6, 2003, in Lincoln County. She wasborn in Masonite Hospital in Laurel on March 19, 1952, to ErnestGarvin and Edna McLaughlin Garvin.

She was a former nurse with St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson,King’s Daughter Hospital, the State Department of Health, the StateDepartment of Mental Health and Brook Manor Nursing Home. She was agraduate of Watkins High School in Laurel, and St. Dominic’s Schoolof Nursing in Jackson. She was an avid fisherman and hunter. At anearly age, she made a profession of faith at Highland BaptistChurch and continued to serve the Lord throughout her life.Friends, family and those in need could always count on her to helpwith weddings, food or decorations. She was a dedicated parent atBrookhaven Academy.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Norman and NancyMcLaughlin, and Ellison and Maudie Garvin.

Survivors are her parents, Ernest and Edna Garvin of Laurel; herhusband of 29 years, Robert “Bobby” Furr of Brookhaven; herdaughter, Katie Furr of Brookhaven; her sons, Chris Furr ofHuntsville, Texas, and Cliff Furr of Hattiesburg; her sister andbrother-in-law, Lynne Garvin Blackledge and J.M. of Laurel; herbrother and sister-in-law, Steve Garvin and Cindy of Laurel; herfather- and mother-in-law, Fred and Faye Furr of Brookhaven; hersisters-in-law and their husbands, Lisa Burt and Van of Brookhaven,and Ann Frazier and Joe of Dallas, Texas; and several aunts,uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends.
