McComb tops BHS kickers

Two goals by Ryan Causey led the McComb Tigers to a 5-1 victoryover Brookhaven’s Panthers in a varsity soccer match on King Field.Nathan Pierce, Carey Coranger and Brooks Abel also scored for theTigers.

Brookhaven got 1 goal from Jonathan Davy.

In the girls game, McComb shut out Brookhaven 1-0 as NiakCrimeal scored for the Lady Tigers.

In recent action, Brookhaven’s girls whipped South Pike 8-0,powered by Ashley Hardy’s 4 goals. Brittany Smith scored twice.Hannah Lowman and Allyson Wallace scored single goals for BHS.

The Panthers beat South Pike 6-2, led by Tyler Alexander’s 3goals. Giles Langston chipped in 2 goals and Blake Hobbs 1.

Brookhaven hosts a 4-team boys tournament Saturday on KingField. The Panthers meet Franklin County In Group One at 10:30Wesson battles Natchez at noon in Group Two. The losers of the twogroups meet at 1:30 followed by the opening round winners matchupat 3 p.m.
