Services for Laura Judy Ferguson Reese of Spring, Texas,formerly of Brookhaven, are 4 p.m., Monday, Dec. 15, at theEpiscopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Tomball, Texas. VeteransFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Reese, 65, died Dec. 11, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn on May 15, 1938.
She was a 1956 graduate of Virginia Interment College. She was ahomemaker and secretary in several professions. She was an artist,seamstress, arts and crafts devotee and gourmet chef. She was amember of the Ferguson clan in Bourbon County, Ky., the BourbonCounty Chapter of DAR and Colonial Daughters of the SeventeenthCentury. She was a member of the Junior League of Lumberton, N.C.,and King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, and was a leaderwith the Girl Scouts for 14 years. She was a longtime Episcopalian,serving on the Altar Guild, Episcopal Church Women (ECW), Sundayschool teacher and EYC youth leader. She and her husband, the Rev.Frederic W. Reese, a retired Episcopal priest, shared theirministry in Beattyville, Ky., Lumberton, N.C., Knoxville, Tenn.,Holly Springs, Brookhaven, and The Episcopal Church of the GoodShepherd of Tomball, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Matilda Rennick andThomas Jefferson Judy.
Survivors are her husband, the Rev. Frederic W. Reese; herdaughter and son-in-law, Barbara Reese Miller and Frank Miller; herson and daughter-in-law, Thomas Franklin Reese and Joyce HarrisReese of San Diego, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Scott O’danielMiller, Caitlin Ferguson Miller, Reese Hardie Miller, LauraElizabeth Reese and William Thomas Reese.
