Bairfield and the state fire marshal’s office investigated thefire Monday, and quickly found evidence of arson.

The fire occurred on Dec. 17 when an area by an electricalheater in the living room and a mattress in a bedroom caughtfire.

“It always raises suspicion when there’s a fire in two parts ofthe house,” said Bairfield.

Thadison told investigators he started the fires by lightingpaper, said Bairfield, adding that Thadison gave motives ofinsurance money and “seeking a thrill.”

Thadison called in the house fire to authorities shortlyafterwards, and volunteer firefighters were able to extinguish thefire.

“Loyd Star did a great job putting it out,” said Bairfield.

Thadison was not injured, and no one else was in the residenceat the time of the fire.
