W.G. “Dub” Brown

Services for W.G. “Dub” Brown of Bude are 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec.27, at Marshall Funeral Home in Bude with burial in MeadvilleCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 4:30 p.m., and Saturdayfrom noon until 1 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown, 76, died Dec. 21, 2003, at Meadville ConvalescentHome. He was born in Meadville on Jan. 25, 1927, to Ulyess andFannie Brown.

He was a mill worker and a truck driver. He was a World War IIArmy veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Inez ElzyBrown.

Survivors are his daughters, Gloria Thomas, Wilhelminia Brownand Juanita Scott, all of New Orleans, La., and Beverly Bradfordand Nellie Brown, both of Bude; his sons, W.G. Brown Jr. ofJackson, Andre Brown and Stephon Brown, both of Bude, and Joe LeeJones of Meadville; his brothers, J.B. Brown and Elvia Brown ofBude; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews and other relatives.

George Douglas Ivey

Services for George Douglas Ivey of Fayette are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Dec. 27, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inPleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson County. Serviceswill be conducted by the Rev. Robert Carr.

Mr. Ivey, 74, died Dec. 24, 2003, in Ridgeland. He was born inJefferson County on Oct. 9, 1929, to George Allen Ivey and IsabelStephens Ivey.

He was retired from the Air Force with 25 years of service. Hewas a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of JeffersonCounty.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Frances Ivey of Fayette; hisdaughters and sons-in-law, Edy and Lee Gaston of Rosenberg, Texas,and Sue and Kim Plemons of Hurst, Texas; his son anddaughter-in-law, George Douglas Ivey Jr. and wife, Christie, ofDurango, Colo.; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and WilburCarpenter of Clinton; his grandchildren, Michael Gaston and wifeMichelle of San Antonio, Texas, Ben Plemons of Hurst, Allen Iveyand Sarah Ivey, both of Durango, and Robert Gaston of Rosenburg;and four great-granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gaston, Robert Gaston, Ben Plemons,Allen Ivey, Don Carpenter and H.P. Sanders. Honorary pallbearerswill be Wayne Holmes, Ray Smith and Wayne Smith.

Geraldine Brister Wright

Services for Geraldine Brister Wright of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Friday, Dec. 26, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inBogue Chitto Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Wright, 82, died Dec. 24, 2003, at her residence. She wasborn in Norfield on June 21, 1921, to Malcolm A. Brister and OraBowman Brister.

She was former owner of Wright’s Grocery and Service Station onAuburn Road. She was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, T.J.Wright.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and JoeFrost of Bude, and Kay and Curtis Maness of Bogue Chitto; herbrothers, Shelby “Buddy” Brister of Bogue Chitto, and Malcolm A.”Mark” Brister of Knoxville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, MelissaPosey, Mike Posey and Jo Ann Waycaster; and hergreat-grandchildren, Ty, Mary, Samuel Lake and Kylee Posey, andNicholas and Olivia Waycaster.
