Services for Hilda Allen of Eufaula, Ala., formerly ofBrookhaven, are 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Crump Chapel UnitedMethodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m., with family hourfrom 7-8 p.m., at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Allen, 93, died Jan. 6, 2004, in Eufaula. She was born inBrookhaven on April 16, 1910, to Rufus Ray and Emma McNulty.

She was retired. She was a member of Crump Chapel UnitedMethodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, BentAllen; and her son, Elester Allen.

Survivors are her daughters and son-in-law, Ethel and HerbertCrews of Eufaula, and Priscilla Marks of Springfield, Mass.; hersister, Pinchnellar Stevenson of McComb; her brothers, Tarzon Rayof Lansing, Mich., and Andrew Ray of Oakland, Calif.; 17grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 45great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Byron J. Armstrong Sr. of Wesson are 11 a.m.,Saturday, Jan. 10, at Strong Hope Baptist Church with burial inStrong Hope Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5-7 p.m., at Stringer Family FuneralServices in Hazlehurst, and Saturday from 10-11 a.m., at thechurch.

Mr. Armstrong, 85, died Jan. 7, 2004, at his residence.

He was a retired dairy farmer and skilled carpenter. He was anative of Lawrence County. He was a member of Strong Hope BaptistChurch, where he served as a deacon for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Doris; his daughter and son-in-law,Nancy and Jerry Dykes of Wesson; his son and daughter-in-law, ByronArmstrong Jr. and Ann of Vicksburg; and his grandchildren, CaroleDykes Bass, William Jefferson Armstrong and Alyson AnnArmstrong.

Services for the Rev. Jerry D. Brown Sr. of Brookhaven are 2p.m., Monday, Jan. 12, at New Vision Fellowship with burial in NewHope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 1-7 p.m., with family present from 6-7p.m., at Tyler Funeral Home.

The Rev. Brown, 68, died Jan. 7, 2004, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Brookhaven on March 24, 1935, to JohnBrown and Nannie Sanders Brown.

He was a retired construction laborer for S.J. Amoroso in SanFrancisco, Calif., and was a former pastor of New Hope MissionaryBaptist Church, where he was also a member.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, EmmaMae, Ella Mae and Francis; and two brothers, James Earl andCharles.

Survivors are his daughter, Yvette Brown of Vallejo, Calif.; hissons, Jerry Brown Jr. of Richmond, Calif., Terry Brown of Vallejo,Calif., John (J.D.) Brown and Joseph Brown, both of Brookhaven,Christopher Wiltz of Atlanta, Ga., and Jonathan Wiltz ofDouglasville, Ga.; his sisters, Clementine Edwards of Detroit,Mich., Beatrice Dixon and Rosie Sanders, both of Brookhaven, andTauheedah Muhammad of Oakland, Calif.; his brother, John (J.C.)Sanders of Brookhaven; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; anda host of nieces and nephews.
