Terry tops BHS kickers

TERRY — The Terry soccer teams swept Brookhaven Friday eveningin a muddy, Division 6-4A soccer match. The Lady Bulldogs won theopener 2-1 and the Bulldogs shut out the Panthers 4-0 in the boysgame.

Hannah Lowman scored Brookhaven’s goal in the first half,gaining a 1-1 halftime deadlock. Providing a scoring assist wasCary Anne Rake. The Lady Panthers stand at 5-9 overall and 2-4 inthe division.

In the boys game, Terry rolled to a 3-0 halftime lead. TheBulldogs lead the division race. The Panthers are 7-4 overall and5-3 in division play, standing third in the division.

“They had standing water all over their field,” said BHS coachKevin Bower. “It was real sloppy.”

Brookhaven resumes play Tuesday, hosting South Pike. The girlsmatch starts at 5:30 on King Field, followed by the boys at 7.
