Services for Doris Nell Blackmon of Silver Creek were 11 a.m.,Saturday, Jan. 17, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in theCliburn Cemetery.

Mrs. Blackmon, 76, died Jan. 15, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Lawrence County on Oct. 27, 1927, to J.B. Dixon and WinnieWalker.

She was a retired sitter, and was a member of Shalom BaptistChurch. She was a senior citizen leader and always sent flowers tothe sick.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; hersisters, Ina Mae Thompson and Ila Jackson; and two brothers, ArzenDixon and W.C. Dixon.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Fannie Lou and RogerNeal of Monticello; her brother, Hezzie Dixon of Theodore, Ala.;her grandchildren, Kenny Neal of Slidell, La., Joseph Neal ofSilver Creek, and Tina Kirkland and Robin Lambert, both ofMonticello; and her great-grandchildren, Kayla Neal, Joseph Neal,Justin Neal, Anna Neal, Angela Neal, Trey Kirkland, MadduxKirkland, Cheyenne Lambert and Alyssa Lambert.
