Services for Elaine Ford Doerr of Mobile, Ala., formerly ofBrookhaven, are 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at Brookhaven Funeral HomeChapel with burial in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from noon until 2 p.m., at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Doerr, 83, died Jan. 17, 2004, at Mobile Infirmary inMobile, Ala. She was born in New Orleans, La., on March 13, 1920,to William Kendrick Ford and Louise Sturm Ford.

She was a homemaker and co-founder and previous co-owner ofMillane’s Gift Shop in Brookhaven. She was a member of First UnitedMethodist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Rowland A.Doerr; and her brother, Burl W. Ford.

Survivors are her daughter, Judy Doerr Carter of Mobile, Ala.;her son, Richard Rowland Doerr of Jackson; her sisters, EdithGautreaux, and Antianette Johnson of Lofaltuf, Calif.; and hergrandchildren, Kevin Doerr of Shreveport, La., Ryan and wifeTiffany Doerr of Madison, Stacy and husband Andy Carmel of SanDiego, Calif., and David Lipscomb of Hattiesburg.

Dours Lefroy Dunn

Services for Dours Lefroy Dunn of California, formerly ofNorfield, are 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at Driscoll’s, ValenciaStreet Serra Mortuary with burial in Olivet Memorial Park in Colma,Calif.

Visitation is Monday from 2-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Dunn, 81, died Jan. 15, 2004, in Clayton, Calif.

He was a baker for Epplers Bakery for 25 years. He was a Navyveteran, serving in World War II. He lived in San Francisco,Calif., for 60 years.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Eleanor Dunn.

Survivors are his children and their spouses, Micheal and DianeDunn, Joseph and Paulette Dunn, and Peter and Lillian Dunn; hissisters and brother-in-law, Mozelle Williamson, and Merle and WayneHill; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Aline Dunn; and hisgrandchildren, Steven Dunn, Michele Dunn and Peter Dunn Jr.

Lucy S. Strait

Services for Lucy S. Strait of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Tuesday,Jan. 20, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in PaxtonCemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Strait, 94, died Jan. 18, 2004, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on May 19, 1909, to Ben P.Smith and Alice Allred Smith.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Philadelphia BaptistChurch. She was a graduate of Lloyd Star High School.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, DanielKelley Strait; and a son, Daniel Kelley Strait Jr.

Survivors are her daughters, Marlene Vinson of Brookhaven, andLaverne Walker of Raymond; her son and daughter-in-law, Gene andAlma Strait of Brookhaven; 15 grandchildren; 28great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and severalnieces and nephews.
