Services for Henry Elmo Rushing of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Southway Baptist Church with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 8 a.m.until 1:30 p.m., at Brookhaven Funeral Home.
Mr. Rushing, 65, died Jan. 25, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on May 15, 1938, to Horace J.Rushing and Blanche Lofton Rushing.
He was owner of Service Auto Supply. He was a member of SouthwayBaptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was an avid golferand fisherman, and coached baseball from Little League to SeniorLeague.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and three brothers,Solon Rushing, Marley Rushing and Vernon Rushing.
Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Smith Rushing of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Debbie Rushing of Memphis, Tenn.; his son anddaughter-in-law, Dr. Lane Rushing and wife Judy of Ridgeland; hisbrother, Charles V. Rushing of Brookhaven; his grandchildren,Allison Rushing, Lindsey Rushing and Taylor Rushing; and his niece,Stephanie Reynaud of Brookhaven.
