Services for Marjorie P. Babington of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Thursday, Jan. 29, at First Presbyterian Church with gravesideservices at 1:30 p.m., in Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton, La.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5-7 p.m., at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Babington, 96, died Jan. 26, 2004, at Silver Cross NursingHome. She was born in Philadelphia on Aug. 11, 1907, to AlexanderJames Patterson and Annie Merritt Patterson.

She was a retired registered nurse for the Public Health Servicespecializing in maternity and infant care. She was a graduate ofMississippi Baptist School of Nursing, and was a member of FirstPresbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband,Stephen. E. Babington.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie B. “Penny”Whittington and Dr. F. Brown Whittington Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; hersister, Mildred Campion of Summit; her grandchildren, Frederick andMelissa Whittington of Pineville, La., Ellen and Samuel Moreton ofHouston, Texas, and Lisa and Thomas Carhart of Menlo Park, Calif.;and her great-grandchildren, Sara and Emily Whittington, Malloryand Charles Moreton, and Will, Stephen and Elisabeth Carhart.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
