Services for Raymond Donald “R.D.” Stewart Sr. of Brookhaven are2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Stewart, 78, died Feb. 3, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in the Kola community in Covington County toJames Walter Stewart and Cuma Ethlyn Sullivan Stewart.

He was former owner of MENCO Corporation, and was a World War IIArmy Air Corps veteran. He was a member of Easthaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Raymond DonaldStewart Jr.; a sister; five brothers; two granddaughters, ChristyFurr and Brandi Runnels; and a great-grandson, D.J. Martin Jr.

Survivors are his children’s mother and his caregiver, BettySmith of Brookhaven; his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie andSteve Runnels of Kurten, Texas, Tina and Joe Martin, and BeckyMagee, all of Brookhaven; his son and daughter-in-law, Billy andRuthie Stewart of Brookhaven; three sisters; eight grandchildren;and five great-grandchildren.
